Thank You for your interest in joining The Cherry Farm Creamery Team. We are proud to say that we often receive outstanding feedback from our customers regarding our service staff. Our customers are greeted with a welcoming smile and are shown our appreciation for their patronage. Therefore, we encourage our applicants to be friendly, fun, energetic, courteous, hard working individuals that can work with and treat other co-workers and clients with respect and professionalism. You will be required to deal directly with the public, prepare orders as well as perform various cleaning duties often associated with the food industry. Several of these duties include changing and washing tubs of ice cream, re-stocking supplies, sweeping and mopping the floors, cleaning and sanitizing utensils, equipment and work areas. The work environment is fun, but also fast-paced and may not be suitable for all applicants.

Understanding that family and school responsibilities should come first, we do our best to schedule around your needs. We try to be as flexible as we can with our employee’s work schedules. In return, we ask that our staff be flexible in understanding that we might need to cancel or add shifts due to weather conditions, often at the last minute. Our staff must also recognize our need to employ people that are available to work during our peak season, days and times.

IN GENERAL, our staff members work three to four shifts per week, between three and six hours each. If you are over the age of 16, the majority of your shifts will be during the evenings and you will be required to be available to work a Friday or Saturday closing shift. Sunday is our busiest day of the week and you should be available to work.

Our work schedule runs from Monday through Sunday and changes weekly. Time off may be requested before the next weeks schedule is made out. After the weekly schedule is posted employees may trade shifts with management approval. Given that our peak season is so short, it is important for all employees to understand that they are hired to work, not to take time off. For this reason, if you know you will need to take a combined two weeks or more off between the last day of school and Labor Day- please do not apply. Although we can often work around up to a week or so of vacation time during the summer, the more you are available, the better.

A neat, tasteful appearance contributes to the positive impression you make on our customers. Please understand that you are expected to dress and groom yourself in accordance with accepted social and business standards, as your job involves dealing with customers in person, as well as food preparation. All our employees are issued Cherry Farm Creamery staff T-Shirts, shorts and a hat. Employees are responsible for their own navy blue or black pants.

If you believe you would be a good addition to our team after reading through our general requirements, please submit your application and we look forward to meeting you.

After submitting my application when will I be contacted?

After the manager receives your application and reviews it, you will be contacted via email. The manager will confirm the next step(s) of action at that point. Examples: Set up an interview, Application kept on file until openings, etc.

I am on a Sports team/involved in an after school program. How Does this affect my chances of being hired?

Applicants must understand that we are looking to fill the business needs. Depending on the current staff make-up we might value one applicant that is available more than another. We understand that many of our applicants have other commitments during the school year. In the spring, if you are able to commit to at least one or two shifts a week until school ends it would still be helpful to us. We are open year round and it is extremely helpful if applicants have availability in the fall and winter months.
